International Criminal Court for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague donated some vocational literature to the Central National Library of Montenegro "Durdje Crnojevic". This is a grant of the Hague Tribunal intended for libraries in Montenegro, thanks to which the fund of CNL become richer by 24 titles. This is mainly legal literature in English:

Montenegrin Retrospective Bibliography Print E-mail

Central National Library "Djurdje Crnojevic" finished the main part of the work on digitization of the Montenegrin retrospective bibliography: 1494-1994, whose range is about  15.000 pages of encyclopedic format (A-4), or 230.000 bibliographic items, processed and systematized according to international standards of bibliographic description and which is, until now, the biggest treasury of the spiritual life of Montenegro, a reflection of our written expression, a manual for the overall knowledge of the activities of our men of letters and an indispensable instrument for scientific and other researches. Digitization of the bibliography is of great importance in the modern world of information, because it makes the easy search possible for all researchers in the country and abroad.

Central National Library Djurdje Crnojevic – NEW RELEASES Print E-mail

In mid-December, the Central National Library Djurdje Crnojevic published three new titles: a collection of short stories by Novak Kilibarda Serdarev grob (Serdar’s Grave), a bio-bibliography of Dragan Radulovic by Lidija Kaludjerovic and Nada Draskovic, and  the new issue of the Bibliografski vjesnik (the Bibliographic Herald), a triple volume for 2010.

Dr. Arne Upmeier Gave a Lecture on Copyright and Libraries Print E-mail

Dr. Arne Upmeier from the Library of the Ilmenau University of Technology held a lecture under the title: "Copyright Suitable for Libraries? German Model", on December 8 in CNL "Djurdje Crnojevic". The lecture that was realized as a result of cooperation between CNL and the Goethe Institute in Belgrade was intended for librarians, publishers and decision-making cultural workers.

Within the official visit to Cetinje and introduction to the implementation of the project “Cetinje – grad kulture 2010-2013” (Cetinje – City of Culture 2010-2013), after the grand opening of the Palace Square and walking tour of the National Museum of Montenegro, Igor Luksic, Prime Minister, Milan Rocen, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Milorad Katnic, Minister of Finance, Branislav Micunovic, Minister of Culture and Aleksandar Bogdanovic, Major of Old Royal Capital Cetinje visited CNL “Djurdje Crnojevic”.
