Through inter-library loan, the National Library of Montenegro acquired an impressive selection of books which, among other texts, include translations of novels, plays and essays of Danilo Kiš into English, reviews and commentaries published by international publishers, and works by Mark Thompson, the author of the “Birth Certificate – the Story of Danilo Kiš”.

On the occasion of 80 years since the birth of Danilo Kiš, National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” will organize promotion of the book “Birth Certificate: The Story of Danilo Kiš” by a British writer and historian Mark Thompson on August 18, 2015.

National Library of Montenegro participates at Book Fair “The Square of Books” in Herceg Novi from 21 to 28 July 2015.
Greek writer Dimitris Sotakis, as a guest of the Fair, held an introductory speech in front of the full square in front of the City Library and Reading Room in Herceg Novi.

The first meeting of the Interdepartmental Task Force for Developing National Strategy Suggestion for Information and Media literacy was held in the National Library of Montenegro in Cetinje on Monday, June 22. The meeting was organized by the National Library within UNESCO’s Participation Programme 2014-2015 "Information and Media Literacy - Strategy and Education". The project is the result of the initiative for popularization of these two modern literacies by using infrastructure and possibilities provided by network  of public and school libraries in country.
