Recently the Central National Library “Djurdje Crnojevic” has received a gift of thirteen editions of the book “Life and Death in the Balkans: A family saga in a century of conflict” published in different languages from its author, Nebojsa Bato Tomasevic. This historical novel speaking of a century of important historic events through the Tomasevic family saga has been published so far in the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, France, Norway, China, Serbia, England, United States, Italy, Croatia and Albania.
Madge Phillips Tomasevic translated into English the abridged version of his story and the book came soon to be published. The oldest and most renowned Norwegian publishing house "Askehog” from Oslo promoted the book under the title “Ufred, En slektshistorie fra Balkan”. The book was also published by other renowned publishing houses: Schuyt &Co (the Netherlands), Campus Verlag GmbH (Germany), Hurst&Co (England), Columbia University Press (United States), Lint Editoriale (Italy), etc. Wherever the book was presented, in particular in Norway, where the event was attended by the Prime Minister and his mother, the antifascist ideas the book is based one were warmly welcomed.
