The Central National Library “Đurđe Crnojevi” participated to the 3rd International Podgorica Book Fair, held under the slogan “Read Yourself” at the Distribution Centre in Podgorica from May 13-19, 2008. Numerous visitors had the opportunity to enjoy the world of books, the experience made possible by more than 100 exhibitors. Bosnia and Herzegovina, the host-country of this year’s fair presented itself with interesting contents and an appealing film promoting the culture and tourism destinations of this country.

The Central National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” became the full partner of the most significant project of all national libraries of Europe “The European Library” (TEL). The main aims of the TEL project are the establishment of a common electronic catalogue of national libraries of Europe and the development of a digital European library as a repository of European cultural heritage. This project is being implemented within the Conference of the European National Librarians – CENL, established with the aim of increasing and reinforcing the role of national libraries in Europe. Jelena Đurović, CNL "Đurđe Crnojević" director, signed the agreement for the Montenegrin national library to join the Conference and thus became the full CENL member. |

 Centralna narodna biblioteka „Đurđe Crnojević" i Crnogorsko narodno pozorište organizovali su izložbu knjiga pod nazivom „Literatura i pozorište", povodom 23. aprila Svjetskog dana knjige i autorskih prava (World book and Copyright Day).
Svjetski dan knjige i autorskih prava proglašen je 15. novembra 1995. godine na 28. Opštoj konferenciji UNESKO-a. Iako prema različitim kalendarima, 23. april je dan smrti Sekspira, Servantesa i De La Vege, ali i dan rođenja drugih velikih autora, medju kojima i Vladimira Nabokova. Ovaj dan je posvećen književnosti, kulturi i zaštiti autorskih prava.

In order to enhance Montenegrin and Czech cultural relations and attain mutual goals in the area of library and information sciences, the Central National Library ''Đurđe Crnojević'' from Cetinje and the National Library of Czech Republic from Prague signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
