In order to inform the COBISS members of the signing of new Full Membership Agreements, on 24.01.2007 a meeting of directors of the libraries already in the system was held at CNL (Central National Library). These are: the University Library, the Law Faculty Library, the Economy Faculty Library, the Library of the Faculty of Political Sciences, the Library of the Faculty of Sciences and Technical Faculties, the Library of the Faculty of Maritime Studies, the Library of the Montenegrin Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Public Library “Radosav Ljumović“. The deadline for signing new agreements with the COBISS centre of Montenegro is 31.01.2007. |

The meeting central libraries directors of was held at CNL „Đurđe Crnojević” on 26.12.2006, informing the attendees of the details of signing the umbrella agreement with IZUM from Maribor. CNB has fulfilled all the requirements for the establishment of the MVL Centre (Virtual Library Centre for Montenegro).

The Umbrella Agreement on the implementation of COBISS in Montenegro was signed on 18.12.2006 at Cetinje, between IZUM, Maribor and CNB “Đurđe Crnojević”. The Agreement was signed by Mr Tomaž Seljak, M.A., director of IZUM, and Jelena Đurović, director of CNB.
Within its Department for Library Activity Development, CNB has established the COBISS centre for Montenegro as a support to the implementation of the Montenegrin Virtual Library project, thus creating the conditions for:

The 15th Annual COBISS Conference was held on 29-30 November 2006 in Maribor, as organised by the Institute for Information Sciences. The conference focused on the “Role of Libraries in Provision of Transparency of Bibliographic Indications of Scientific, Professional and Pedagogical Success in Higher Education and Research Organisations”. The conference was attended by over 400 participants from 14 countries.

The Central National Library of Montenegro was again present at this year 51st Belgrade Book Fair, held form 24th to 30th October with own publications, recognizable editions and professional publications in the area of librarian and information activities, biographic and bibliographic research, publications on the history of Montenegro. The reprints of rare books from Montenegrin heritage have also been presented.
