NEW EDITIONS OF THE CENTRAL NATIONAL LIBRARY “DJURDJE CRNOJEVIC” Print E-mail

The Central National Library “Djurdje Crnojevic”, Cetinje, enriched its publishing production with four new titles. Within the retrospective national bibliographic project, entitled Montenegrin Bibliography 1494-1994, Volume III, Book 15: Discussions, Articles and Literary Works in Serial Publications – 1982-1985 has just been released. This voluminous 1,155 page publication, in encyclopaedic format (A4), hard covers, contains in total 16,743 bibliographic units – gathered and processed by the CNL bibliographer Ljiljana Lipovina. It is the 30th book published within the Project.

All volumes published so far catalogue in total 214,999 bibliographic units based on the set criteria: publications and contributions published in Montenegro, about Montenegro and the Montenegrins, and the works by Montenegrin authors within and outside the country.
Two volumes have been published within the Current Montenegrin Bibliography: Montenegrin Bibliography: Monographs – 2005 and Montenegrin Bibliography: Monographs – 2006. Current Montenegrin Bibliography is developed by gathering the bibliographic records from the mutual electronic catalogue COBIB.CG, other data bases in the COBISS.Net and other sources. The bibliographies have been compiled following the international standard for the description of monographs ISBD(M), and the units are catalogued following the UDK system.
The Current Montenegrin Bibliography for the year 2005 contains 1,504 bibliographic units, and for 2006 – 1,842. To date, five volumes have been published compiling 6,507 bibliographic units.
In the edition Bio-bibliographies, the CNL “Djurdje Crnojevic” has recently published another book of Portraits, by the academician Dusan Martinovic. This is the tenth book bearing the same title in a row by the same author, and all were published by CNL over the period 1983-2009. Portraits X contains bio-bibliographies of the members of the Editorial Board of the Montenegrin Bibliography 1494-1994, then associates on the project and several prominent personalities from scientific and cultural life of Montenegro. It presents in total 27 persons whose work and participation has provided a significant contribution in the successful implementation of the momentous project carried out by the CNL “Djurdje Crnojevic”.
