U.S.-Montenegro History Week Print E-mail

The United States Embassy in Podgorica will mark the “U.S. – Montenegro History Week” from June 21-25, to celebrate 105th anniversary of the beginning of diplomatic relations between Montenegro and the USA. The programme contains the exhibition of historical documents, public lectures, a historical conference, a book promotion and a video screening about the history of diplomatic relations between the two states.

On June 22, a book compiling historical documents “Monenegro and the USA in the documents of the National Archives in Washington 1905-1918”, edited by Director of the Historical Institute of Montenegro Radoslav Raspopovic, will be debuted at the CNL “Djurdje Crnojevic” in Cetinje. The U.S. Ambassador to Montenegro Roderick W. Moore, the book reviewers Professor John Treadway and academician Dragoljub Zivojinovic, Director of the Central National Library in Cetinje Jelena Djurovic and the author will speak at the book promotion.  

Following the book promotion, Speaker of the Parliament of Montenegro Ranko Krivokapic will open the Exhibition of Historical Documents and Artefacts from the collection of the Foundation for Preservation and Development of Cultural Heritage of Montenegro “East River-Montenegro”.
