Aiming to enhance the cultural links between Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina and attain common interests in the area of library and information sciences, the Central National Library “Djudje Crnojevic”, Cetinje and the National and University Library of BiH signed a Cooperation Agreement on 14 September 2010. The Agreement was signed by the respective directors, Mrs Jelena Djurovic and Dr Ismet Ovcina.

The two libraries agreed on the exchange of publications published in Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina of interest for cultural heritage; on exchange of experts in the area of library and information sciences; on efforts on joint projects such as exhibitions, seminars, conferences, as well as joint research into cultural heritage.

With the aim of extending the current cultural exchange and setting new conditions conducive to direct cooperation in library work, the Agreement envisages the implementation of joint publication projects; projects in the area of protection, restoration and digitalisation; contribution to safeguarding written cultural heritage of the two countries; exchange of library experts by offering professional development and exchange visits to the two libraries.

The Agreement between the Central National Library “Djudje Crnojevic”, Cetinje and the National and University Library of BiH, Sarajevo, is a formal act illustrating the level of mutual respect and cooperation between the two national libraries.
